Open Call 2024

Cnoc Buí 2024 Exhibitions Programme

Open Call

Cnoc Bui invites proposals for exhibitions for our 2024 Programme in Cnoc Buí Community Arts Centre.  Submissions are invited for solo and group exhibitions, for artists at any career stage and working in any medium. This open call aims  to enable artists to engage new audiences with their work and  enhance engagement with Cnoc Bui’s’ exhibitions programme.

Cnoc Buí is a new community arts centre which promotes the visual, performing and dramatic arts locally, regionally and nationally. The property was acquired from philanthropic sources in June ’22 with a view to establishing a centre for the arts in the picturesque village of Union Hall in West Cork.  In addition to providing a centre for the visual arts, it is intended to foster the performing and dramatic arts at Cnoc Bui.  The property will provide a focal point for local groups and particularly those whose voluntary work does so much to enhance the community.  The main building is already in use as an exhibition and meeting space, while other parts of the buildings and grounds are undergoing further renovation. This year we have held over a dozen excitons and launches including West Cork Creates Easter and Summer exhibitions. We are currently inviting submissions for our 2024 Exhibition programme.

Deadline for exhibition proposals is 11am, Friday 22th September 2023. Late submissions will not be accepted.

All works submitted for the exhibition are considered by a Selection Panel. And applicants  will be notified of the outcome of their application by 21st October 2023.

Submissions may be in any discipline: drawing, painting, sculpture, new media, digital, printmaking, film, ceramics, glass, photography, installation, and jewellery. Cnoci Bui  has a policy of supporting artists at all stages of their careers. Cnoc Bui is an equal opportunities organisation providing access to exhibitions, arts, and education programmes without regard to age, race, colour, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or disability.
